The Transcriptionist I composes letters to
workers’ compensation carriers for every visit from chart notes, x-rays,
pathology, orthopedic consultations, etc.
Completes paper work related to workers’ compensation patients.
High School diploma or equivalent. Specialized
training in medical transcription and medical terminology preferred. One year
experience with PC word processing applications. Two years experience typing
medical reports, particularly x-ray reports preferred. Typing 60-65 wpm; able
to type a minimum of 1,500 lines per eight (8) hour shift; able to compose
letters with minimal information.
Knowledge of orthopedic medical terminology, other medical terminology
