Job Description


The Director of Corporate Training leads the enterprise, planning and implementation of a centralized corporate training team aligned with the objectives and strategy of the EPIC Management L.P. and our customers. Work in partnership with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Acts as a liaison between clinical operations and Information Service (IS) teams to provide both training and operational improvements. Develops and recommends for approval an annual operational plan including a staffing and operating budget. Provides support for the clinical training program while obtaining direction from the Director of Nursing, or their designee, for clinical requirements. Manages and supervises departmental trainers to ensure consistent training and education is available to all employees in alignment with the “Quadruple Aim”.  With a focus on the training function, participates in and works with leaders, teams, and individuals from the PPSS, ACS, and ECS divisions with a focus on training and educational excellence. Responsible for meeting implementation and upgrade timelines for mission critical applications.                 




High School Diploma with some college or university level coursework in Education, Business, Business Administration or specialized discipline in the field of job responsibility. Will be required to obtain Epic System training and certification (Epicare Ambulatory Fundamentals and TED100) or equivalent within six months. Bachelor’s Degree as stated above and Lean Six Sigma certification preferred. At least five years progressive experience in the health care field, education/training business management or similar service industry.  At least one year providing training or the development of training programs within an Integrated Delivery System. Two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred. Requires strong healthcare industry knowledge, leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills. Excellent verbal and written presentation as well as interpersonal communication skills.  Strong PC-based business software skills including MS Office suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), practice management and other medical related software. Strong ability to collaborate with senior leadership and other staff to define and monitor staff performance deficiencies and implement creative solutions through staff training programs; ability to exhibit a disciplined and consistent approach to problem solving; to function with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize all work tasks; to work well with individuals in all levels of the organization; and, to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and be a self-starter and an effective team player. Strong project management skills to include clear objectives, communication, organization, sequencing of activities, development of timelines and delivery of project objectives.
