Job Description

The Cardiac Sonographer Supervisor is a working supervisor and is distinguished by the type, amount and level of education/training and certification; the type and range of routine to more complex technical job responsibilities; and in addition performs administrative responsibilities including the scheduling, training, development and general supervision of work performed, annual performance evaluations, budget preparation, monitoring and ordering of supplies and timely and safe delivery of patient care services.  


Graduation from an approved AMA school of Echocardiography.  Associate Degree in Business Administration, Health Care field or specialized discipline in the field of job responsibility. Bachelor’s degree or Postgraduate training and experience in resting echocardiography, treadmill and pharmacological stress echocardiography preferred. At least 5 years of experience as a cardiac sonographer. Must possess clinical expertise in echocardiography, cardiovascular stress testing, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and have understanding of cardiac arrhythmias and EKG interpretation. Current ARDMS registration and BLS and ACLS required. Adult Echocardiography certification (RDCS) preferred. Must be proficiently skilled in the application and use of Windows, Doctor Web, McKesson Online, Digisonics CRS, and EMR.
