Job Description

The Business Analyst is responsible for the creating and maintaining analytic tools for Medical Directors and Medical Management unit Directors. Once reporting is established as routine, the analyst will review for trends, outliers and exceptions, and work Medical Directors to implement changes in practices to respond to the conclusions derived by the Business Analyst.  Other responsibilities will include data analysis for large-scale projects design and evaluation.  The analyst must possess excellent follow-up and detail-oriented skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. The ability to work well with a variety of people and departments is essential to this position.  The analyst must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

Associate of Arts, or two years of college level course work in business, health administration or computer science. Bachelor of Science Degree in Business/Healthcare AdministrationInformation Technology/Computer Science from an Accredited University preferred. Two years of experience working with managed care systems in a health services provider environment. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must be proficiently skilled in the application and use of Microsoft Office. Ability to navigate SQL Server 2005/2008 preferred.  Knowledge of Healthcare information systems applications. Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization; to work quickly, accurately, independently and with considerable attention to detail; to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner to work in a high stress environment; and to anticipate needs and solve problems.
