Highland Springs Medical Plaza Opening

Highland Springs Medical Plaza Opens

November 09, 2009

Highland SpringsThe new Highland Springs Medical Plaza in Beaumont has opened with much effort from EPIC Management, LP staff negotiating contracts for Beaver Medical Group and providing management and staff for the new urgent care and primary care suites.

Beaver Medical Group, Loma Linda University and Redlands Community Hospital (RCH) collaborated to build the new 85,000 square foot facility in order to bring much needed health care services to the East Valley. It includes the Highland Springs Surgery Center that is available to Beaver, Loma Linda, RCH and other physicians for outpatient surgery.

In July Beaver Medical Group opened a large suite in the new plaza located at 81 S Highland Springs Avenue, Suite 200 in Beaumont. Family Medicine and Internal Medicine providers are practicing there: Dr. Khalil, Dr. Rae, Dr. Joreteg, Dr. Song, Susan Pak, PA and Bernard Yap, PA. The phone number for Beaver’s Primary Care office in Beaumont is the same as the two Banning offices: (951) 845-0313.

The providers and staff at the Banning Urgent Care Center moved to the new Highland Springs Medical Plaza, Suite 100 in November 2009. The Loma Linda University - Beaver Urgent Care is managed and staffed by EPIC Management, and Beaver Medical Group providers see patients there. It is owned by Loma Linda University, who provided the start-up funding, furniture and equipment. Of course, all Beaver Medical Group patients can be seen at the new urgent care. In addition, patients and employees of Loma Linda University Medical Center can utilize the urgent care. The new urgent care has additional exam rooms and beds to be able to handle the increased patient volume.

The hours remain the same: 7:00 am to 11:00 pm every day of the year, including holidays. The popular pre-registration service continues to be available to patients who call (951) 845-0313 ahead of time to be screened and told the best time to arrive in order to minimize their wait time.

Many of Beaver’s surgeons have become credentialed at the new surgery center so patients from the area will no longer have to travel to Redlands for outpatient surgery. In addition, Beaver’s anesthesiologists will be the primary providers of anesthesia services at the new surgery center.  The surgery center was the first suite to open in the plaza in June, and Beaver’s own general surgeon, Dr. Charles Yoh, performed the first surgery there and Dr. Khanh Pham Beaver anesthesiologist administered anesthesia. Dr. Yoh’s patient received hernia surgery and was impressed by the facility and the staff.

The medical plaza also includes a large imaging center slated to open in August that will offer advanced imaging including digital x-ray, MRI and CAT scans. Beaver patients will be able to utilize the imaging center, and Beaver’s radiologists will use the new PACs system to read the images.

Loma Linda is opening a cancer infusion and radiation center, physical therapy office, pediatric office, orthopedic office and laboratory.

Fred Hollaus, COO of EPIC Management, designed the Beaver suites at Highland Springs Medical Plaza. He stated, “The new Highland Springs Medical Plaza in Beaumont is a beautiful facility. It is a flagship in the area.”
