EPIC Signs Tri-Valley Medical Group

Tri-Valley Medical Group, a multi-specialty group with locations in Murrieta, Sun City and Temecula, recently contracted with EPIC Management for health care management services. The core group consists of seven Tri-Valley Internal Medicine Group physicians who have served as hospitalists in the area for several years. They recently joined together with local OB/GYN, Rheumatology and Endocrinology physicians to form Tri-Valley Medical Group. The doctors are ambitious and plan to expand into a large multi-specialty practice.

Tri-Valley Medical Group has an excellent opportunity to grow and develop through its collaboration with the new Loma Linda University Medical Center - Murrieta hospital that is opening in early 2011,” said Duane Whittington, VP of Network Development for EPIC.
The Tri-Valley physicians will be able to see their own patients at the new Loma Linda University – Murrieta hospital, and they plan to open a new location in the medical office building located on the hospital campus. The community is already abuzz about this high quality medical center opening soon, and Tri-Valley’s affiliation with Loma Linda University should drive patients to the physicians. Only select board-certified doctors have been contracted to work with the hospital. Loma Linda University chose to work with the Tri-Valley physicians because of their reputation for providing high-quality and efficient hospital care.
Another strength of the group is their use of technology. They use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to provide top-quality preventive care, medication management, medical treatments and written patient instructions. The new Loma Linda University Medical Center – Murrieta will also use EMR, so the doctors will be able to pull up patients’ office and hospital records at any location. "The group's synergistic and tech savvy approach to delivery of medical care is cutting edge," said Gloria Robles, Director of Network Development at EPIC.
The internal medicine physicians have seen a limited number of patients on PPO and straight Medicare at their office locations in addition to their hospitalist practice. Now they will be able to greatly expand their clinical practice with the new managed care health plan contracts that EPIC has been securing for the group.
EPIC staff has been working hard to get everything in place to support the operations of Tri-Valley, including a credentialed specialty and ancillary provider network in the Temecula Valley, patient care management processes, marketing and accounting support. The new health plan contracts should go into effect November 1, 2010 - just in time for Medicare Open Enrollment.
