Job Description

 The UM Nurse Supervisor/Educator oversees and coordinates all clinical activities of UM Pre-Service and Inpatient nursing staff.  Oversees an effective orientation and comprehensive education program for all new and existing nursing staff within the Utilization Management Department. Responsible for identifying required competencies and key performance indicators for the nursing staff and develop training/education programs around identified areas of opportunity. 

 

Qualifications

 

High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Current California RN license required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field or current equivalent related work experience preferred. Two years clinical experience as an RN in an acute care or ambulatory care setting required. Two or more years of experience in an IPA/Medical Group of healthcare in a managed care environment with experience in both inpatient and pre-service case management. One year experience in program development in a managed care environment. Principles and practices of health care, health care systems, and medical administration.
