Job Description

The Risk Adjustment Specialist I will be a part of the Risk Adjustment Team responsible for researching and resubmitting off multiple systems (Custody of Code) ICD-10 codes and assist the Risk Adjustment Supervisor’s in aspects of risk adjustment including, but not limited to, the research of medical records, confirmation of clinical documentation, and assuring accurate and complete encounters are submitted to the health plan. The Risk Adjustment Specialist I works closely with Risk Adjustment Team leadership to support assigned physicians in risk adjustment and/or auditing activities. 

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Six months of experience in CPT-4, ICD10 & HCPCS Coding or successful completion of the EPIC Management Coding Compliance externship program. CPC-A, COC-A, CPC, COC, or CRC certification required. Desktop Application knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word). Capability to research and resubmit HMO and Clearing house rejects, identify problem areas and make recommendations for change. Ability to work independently in a high production work environment and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization. Strong analytical skills as related to data, information, and data entry. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
