The Registered Nurse is distinguished by the
type and level of responsibilities for routine to increasingly more complex and
comprehensive patient care procedures and processes; level and type of
education and experience in various clinical settings; level and types of
technical certifications, independence of judgment and decision making; and,
skills and abilities to provide physician support and patient education, carry
out established procedures, development and updating of operational protocols,
liaison and recordkeeping requirements and conditions, and preparation of data,
information and/or reports through use of computer applications.
High School diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited school
of nursing. Current CA RN license; Current BLS. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
preferred; RN I – New grad up to two years of nursing experience in a hospital,
managed care, skilled nursing or other health care setting. At least two years
of experience in facility-based nursing. RN II – Three or more years as an RN with a
broad spectrum of clinical experience. ER/critical care highly desirable Home
Health or case management experience highly desirable. Computer literacy and
typing skills required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing; to handle stressful situations; to
multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner; to work quickly,
accurately and independently; and, to anticipate needs and solve problems.
