Job Description

The Radiology Department Assistant position is comprised of various types of clerical and operational support duties and responsibilities linked to the fundamental function of the Radiology Department.  The duties and responsibilities range from basic clerical, documents processing, film and DVD replication of images, digitizing of film to PACS system, responding to subpoenas, scheduling, and similar activities to those requiring more detail oriented knowledge of specialized processes, abilities to handle progressively more detailed and multi-tasking transactions. 

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology and/or graduate of an approved medical office training program preferred. Experience in customer service industry. Medical applications, computer and prior medical office experience preferred, prior experience in a radiological setting would be preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and levelheaded approach to encounters; excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated accurate typing/word processing skills of at least 25 WPM; accurate and legible handwriting are required. Ability to recognize errors such as spelling, names, and other data/information; ability to operate various office equipment/machines; ability to assess work responsibilities and prioritize, keeping manager apprised of status on a routine basis; and, ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
