Job Description

The PACS Administrator is responsible for the image and information integrity of the clinical medical devices and their networking with Zeiss Forum and limited oversight interfacing with the EMR. Oversees Eye Clinic equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading installing and other related activities across all locations. This individual also acts as a liaison between the Eye Clinic clinicians and staff with IT, equipment vendors and all other Optum customers/departments. Trains and assists Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, technologists and ancillary staff in the use of the equipment. Maintains excellent customer relations between PACS users, site leadership, vendors and IT


High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of PACS administration experience especially with Zeiss Forum or two years general IT experience, or two years of experience in Ophthalmology clinic workflows with networked devices, PACS, EMR. Four years Ophthalmology technician experience and two years IT service desk technician experience along with previous experience in IT supporting a clinical operation preferred. Working knowledge of Ophthalmology devices, workflows and how these interact with IT networks and the ability to quickly grasp the basics of IT networked systems and how devices connect to the EMR.
