Job Description

The Health Information Associate is responsible for such duties as pulling and filing charts, receiving and filing forms, receiving and processing mail/documents, faxing documents, answering, routing, and/or responding to telephone calls, and other routine clerical and general office duties. It also will include working regularly with other clinic or support operations personnel, providers, patients, and the general public to insure excellent customer service.


High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations preferred. Six months prior work experience in an office setting, or as a Health Information Associate preferred. Have a working knowledge of HIPPA regulations. Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner; to work quickly, accurately and independently. Attain a level of knowledge sufficient to be able to work any position within the department with reasonable accuracy. Ability to work in situations or moderate to high stress required time frames. Ability to answer and route incoming telephone calls, and the ability to work in situations where work may be frequently interrupted.
